When a friend of mine reported on her Facebook page that she just went to a great party where Beyonce' sang and it was hosted by the Khadfafi family I said to a staff member of
Celebrity Wire "this couldn't be the dictator from Libya's family splurging a little oil money can it?". Sure enough it was and I admit I was a little shocked (not much shocks me these days) and more disappointed. If you were a famous public artist like Beyonce would you sing at a well known terrorists sons party for 2 million dollars? Even more would it help your decision if the son had his own unique criminal record that also had a reported serious history of domestic violence? Well I guess the answer for Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z is simple: 2 mill is still two mill and let's party. Other reported guests at this wonderful New Years Eve bash were reportedly Lindsay Lohan, Russell Simmons, Usher and perhaps even Billionaire Paul Allen. All of that seems like a good reason to now celebrate New Years Eve with the Gaddafi family in 2010. After all it's a new decade and they haven't committed any terrorism that we know of lately and they have a lot of oil money. So let's party with them babe; absolutely let's party!!!. The host of the party was officially reported to be: Muammar Gaddafi's fifth eldest son, Motassim Bilal (Hannibal) Gaddafi, (as reported and noted by Wikipedia) "once worked for General National Maritime Transport Company, a company that specializes in Libyan oil exports. He is most notable for being involved in a series of violent incidents throughout Europe. In 2001, Hannibal attacked three Italian policemen with a fire extinguisher; in September 2004, he was briefly detained in Paris after driving a Porsche at 90 mph in the wrong direction and through red lights down the Champs-�lys�es while intoxicated; and in 2005, Hannibal in Paris allegedly beat model and then girlfriend Alin Skaf, who later filed an assault suit against him.[68] He was fined and given a four month suspended prison sentence after this incident. In December 2009 police were called to Claridges Hotel in London after staff heard a scream from Hannibal's room. Aline Skaf, now his wife, was found to have suffered facial injuries including a broken nose, but charges were not pressed after she maintained she had sustained the injuries in a fall[69].

At the 35th G8 summit in July 2009, Gaddafi called Switzerland a "world mafia" and called for the country to be split between France, Germany and Italy."
Doesn't sound too bad to me; perhaps Rihanna would have liked that gig? No I don't think so! What I do think is that when there is a lot of money on the table that pretty and famous people can be tantalized by it and then other jetsetters (like my really nice friend) will follow and every once in awhile it will culminate in an embarrassing moment that just doesn't look or feel or smell right. Because the whole thought of this party doesn't seem like it deserves any endorsement at all. If it is any consolation I heard it was a very good party and that whoever was paid to plan it did their job well. But also whoever sadly planned the Lockerbie bombing also did their job. I wonder whether Beyonce and the others involved in this NYE show are going to put on a concert for the families of those victims or the other terror victims of the Libyan regime. Better yet why not donate the money you made on this to Libya's terror victims and their families.
Has Hollywood style glitz and glamour become more important than right and wrong? Has money become the driving force for Celebrities like Beyonce or others? At
Celebrity Wire we don't think it is cool to cover or hang out with celebs at any cost or at the sacrifice of right and wrong so we will say no to events like this one! We do think that Beyonce and Jay Z are generally likable good people and incredible talents. We also think highly of Russell Simmons and Usher and even at times; Lindsay Lohan. I would love to count Paul Allen as a friend or investor (as he is in my sisters company). But I cannot think that attending an event like this with people like this no matter what yacht it is on or how much money a person has (in this case "Hannibal Gaddafi") is cool, admirable or acceptable. I hope next time they check the invitation twice and say no. It wasn't worth all the bad publicity or Karma that comes with this kind of party. However we do wish everyone Peace, Love and Happiness and No Terrorism (including the Gadaffi's) in this year and every other.
